Hair & Makeup:

Another pro tip is using your engagement session as a trial run of your wedding day hair and makeup. You might have an idea of what look you want to go for, but it’s hard to know exactly how it’ll photograph. Schedule a test run with your makeup artist for the engagement session! It’ll likely give you a confidence boost and prep you to know exactly what you want your makeup to look like for your wedding day. Bonus: get your nails done too! You will probably be taking a lot of pictures that highlight your wedding ring and you want your nails to help make it pop even more!

Location:

You have a lot of freedom when it comes to picking a location for your engagement shoot. You can choose a spot that your photographer recommends or somewhere that is special to you and your fiancé personally. On your wedding day there are inevitable time constraints and pressures that you don’t have to worry about during an engagement session. Thus, you will have a more relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to get to know your photographer.

Furry Friends:

I saved the best for last…of course we can’t forget about our precious pets! As much as we adore our fluffy sidekicks, it can be hard to coordinate incorporating them into your actual wedding day. But there’s no reason they can’t be included in your engagement session! There are tons of photo worthy locations that happen to be pet-friendly as well. As a bonus, if you’re having any anxiety about doing a shoot in general, what better way to calm your nerves and just have fun than with your puppy by your side?
