Aubrey & Everly’s Newborn Session

I’m back with another set of twins! I had the pleasure of photographing two beautiful baby girls, Aubrey and Everly at their home in Bloomfield, New Jersey. This session was a little different than other newborn twins I’ve shot in the past because I could actually tell the girls apart. Aubrey is a brunette and Everly is a blonde! Their parents, Brittany and Joe were completely shocked when they learned they were having twins since they don’t run in their family. Brittany even mentioned wanting to try for a boy next, however the doctor told her she had a 1/12 chance of having twins again so she probably was not going to risk it.

Another fun addition to this session was Aubrey and Everly’s 2-year-old sister, Reagan. She was a little shining star and was completely convinced that my assistant and I came over just to play with her.

We started the session with the babies cuddled up in each other’s arms. Since they share a room and recently shared a womb (haha), they naturally gravitated towards one another and weren’t startled by each other’s movements. In our next pose we had Everly sleeping on Aubrey’s back. To my surprise, Aubrey was sound asleep the entire time, even with the weight of her sister on top of her. She was a total trooper and did not budge at all. We even added in some flower petals and a tiny teddy bear to this dreamy scene. For their final pose, the girls laid side by side, peacefully swaddled, each holding their own teddy.

Reagan couldn’t wait to be included in a few photos with her baby sisters. She is clearly a natural in front of the camera! She laid down for these angelic pictures with Everly and Aubrey safely tucked under each arm.

Newborn photography sessions never get old to me and are always so special with the poses we are able to achieve. Especially with twins, the more the merrier!
