Taylor & Mike Engagement Session

Taylor and Mike’s engagement session took place in one of my absolute favorite spots, Divine Park in Spring Lake, New Jersey. This location has so much versatility! There’s a dreamy, almost storybook-like, whimsical wooden bridge covering the lake that my couples love to stroll across. You can get so much scenery in the background of your photoshoot, from tall oak trees and greenery to a peaceful waterfront. The Spring Lake Beach is just two minutes away and provides yet another scenic and romantic setting for your photoshoot. I’ve mentioned it before but this is a great way to “hack” your session and make it look like you did two photoshoots in one with a simple outfit change! You would really never know that these were all shot in one day!

“We knew of each other from high school, well I should say, I knew of mike. I was a freshman and he was a senior and I actually thought he was super cool and had a crush on him, but I was a nobody freshman that he never noticed (14-year-old me is totally winning right now). He went off to Rider University where he wrestled D1 and I finished high school then went off to Misericordia University where I studied OT and played tennis. Years passed and I graduated college and moved back home to Jackson where Mike was living once again as well.

Mike and I reconnected via social media and dating apps, where I reached out to him first. We started talking early in 2020, but became official in July of 2020 after my persistence finally led to him asking me on our first date. After our first date I had a gut feeling I was going to be all in, while he went home and thought he messed it all up, until I texted him later that night. Since that first date, there hasn’t been a day we haven’t spoken, and no more than 5 days have passed without seeing each other. I don’t know if I would call it love at first sight, but we both definitely knew our relationship with each other was going to be something important.”

Taylor and Mike’s love story is one for romance novels. It seems like they were destined to be together. Even though it may have taken a few extra years and the power of social media, it just goes to show that it is never too late to reconnect with someone and go for what you want! You just might end up with that someone special who was important to you all along.

The two of them love spending time at the beach, whether it’s walking around, sunbathing, or having a picnic. I am so happy I got to capture their love in the setting that feels most natural to them! Keeping with the theme, Taylor and Mike are getting married at Crystal Point Yacht Club in May 2024!
