Ashley & Joey Engagement Session

Ashley and Joey chose to do their engagement session right on their own property in Nesco, New Jersey. She told me that this is their forever home and they hope to one day show all the pictures to their kids. Given how special the location is to them, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect spot for the shoot. Ashley and Joey’s entire session truly looks like a scene from The Notebook right down to the white house, with blue shutters, and a big porch wrapped around the whole house. The home has been in Joey’s family for years and they even call it “The White House.”

I personally loved how versatile their property was. With an outfit change and all the beautiful scenery, it basically looked like we did three sessions in one! First, we took some shots surrounded by big tall trees and an empty field. Then, we moved on to the blueberry orchard directly across the street from their home. Last, but certainly not least, we set up a gorgeous picnic in front of their house complete with wine and a charcuterie board! They love playing cards together so we even incorporated that into their picnic setup.

Ashley and Joey were such naturals throughout the entire session. They interacted so genuinely and I could really sense the love between them, which I think is so apparent in the images I was able to capture. It was a stunning and warm end of summer day and after our session was over, the two of them laid outside and watched the last few minutes of the sunset together.

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph this couple and see all their pure emotions in the moment. I can’t wait to join them on their wedding day in August 2023 at The Grove at Centerton!
